Graduate Program Frequently asked questions

1. Can I apply for the 2008 program (commencing February 2008) if I am still studying?
You must have completed your studies prior to commencing in February 2008. If you are still studying and complete mid-2008, please apply for our 2009 program.

2. How many people from each of the areas are you looking to employ?
We will be recruiting six graduates – two in our Sales/Production/Customer Care area and one each in Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Interactive.

3. Can you give me more details about the selection process?
Applicants will be required to complete the following steps in the selection process:

• Initial screening by our Onsite Recruitment team.
• Role play and initial interview
• Behavioural interview with the Line Manager within the relevant business unit and a Recruitment representative.

4. Are there any opportunities to undertake further studies while on the Graduate Program?
Applicants are encouraged to pursue further development as part of their career with Sensis including a CA or CPA qualification. The Graduate Program has a well-structured learning and development component that covers professional as well as technical skill development (where required). It is recommended that graduates do not pursue further external studies until the completion of the program, as the program is a full-time commitment.

5. If I am unsuccessful in my application for the Graduate Program this time can I apply for the program again?
Yes, applicants are eligible to apply for the Sensis Graduate Program again the following year. Completion of studies must still be within two years of the year of application.

6. If I am not offered a graduate position, can I apply for another role with Sensis?
Yes, applicants who are unsuccessful are certainly able to apply for any other roles available within Sensis.

7. I have majors in more than one area offered in the Graduate Program can I apply to all disciplines?
In your application you will be asked to specify which part of the program you wish to apply for. If you have a particular preference, please highlight this in your cover letter. If you have more than one area of interest please complete another on-line application.

8. Are all the positions you are offering based at QV Building?
Yes, all of the roles will be based in Melbourne at our Head Office. However there may be occasion to travel to other offices both inter and intra state

9. If I am not a permanent resident, am I still eligible to apply?
Applications will only be accepted from applicants who already hold Australian permanent residency or citizenship.

10. Is it considered an advantage to have postgraduate qualifications or a double degree?
Applicants are assessed against a range of areas including grades, work experience and extracurricular activities. Sensis is looking for well-rounded applicants, and an undergraduate degree will be accepted along with postgraduate and double degrees.

11. How do I provide my academic transcript?
If you are successful, you will be required to bring a copy to the group assessment
