National Sustainability Partnerships

We have a number of partners we work with to support a sustainable future for Australian communities, including:

Planet Ark

We teamed up with Planet Ark to support individuals and businesses in finding simple ways to reduce their impact on the planet, at home, at work and in the community.

Together we created the Recycling Near You website which connects Australians with recycling services. The site provides information on their kerbside collections and drop off sites for other items ranging from computers and corks to motor oil and mobiles.

Recyclingnearyou.com.au has attracted more than 3.5 million visits since launching in 2006!

Forest Stewardship Council

We’ve partnered with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) as part of our ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental impact. Founded in 1993, this international non-government organisation develops standards and promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests.

Today the FSC logo is an internationally recognised symbol of sustainable business practice and assurance for consumers. When you see the FSC logo on a piece of paper, it means that paper has been certified as coming from well-managed sustainable sources. All our corporate and marketing communications materials will now be FSC certified.

WPC Group – GreenSkills

To help our workforce make a real difference to Australia’s environmental future we’ve also partnered with GreenSkills, an initiative aimed at creating opportunities for apprentices in the green economy.

GreenSkills aims to address skills shortages and skills deficiencies facing business and government agencies that are providing environmental goods or services to customers or working to meet government policy objectives.

WPC Group GreenSkills Program is the first group training program targeting the “green economy”.

Conservation Volunteers Australian

We have also partnered with Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA), Australia’s largest practical conservation organisation.

CVA makes a positive difference to the Australia environment through their environmental work. This new partnership will allow our people to develop practical knowledge and capabilities to build a sustainable future for Australian communities.
